I have some good
news to report! My paintings are now showing at Gallery Row, 3102
Harborview Drive, Gig Harbor WA.
l am presently focusing my
attention on landscapes inspired by my extensive recent travels in the Caribbean
and the Mediterranean. The latest two are shown below.
The
first is a typical home on the island of Guadeloupe in the Caribbean.
Guadeloupe is of course French and a member of the EU, but the scenery and
architecture is uniquely Caribbean with a french flavour.
The
second is a day-tripper boat that was moored in Plomeri Harbour on the south
coast of Lesvos in the Aegean Sea. The owner took Alan on a crazy scooter
ride helping him in his search for a propane refill. We got to know him
and his wife. They operate this one boat and a small car rental company in
the harbour. The summers are busy and the winters not. Every
day the day-tripper would depart with a rag-tag group of mainly scandinavian
tourists for the beaches along the coast, after it returned the daylight
faded and its colorful lights began to glow in the twilight.
I am also
having lots of fun with my pet portraits. I am accepting commissions and
my newest pet painting of Zoey is an example. Zoey is very
lovable but too bright, She has a perpetual slightly worried expression
that I captured in this painting.
My pet paintings are intended
to be a whimsical reflection of each individual animal's
personality, rendered with a lavish use of bold, unexpected
color.
