Oil Change

Alan's Log:
Joan's Log:

On a boat, even the simplest task can become complex and full of surprises.  We now have about 850 hours on the main engine and another oil change was mandated before heading south to Spain.  This was not my first oil change, far from it, but each one has had its idiosyncrasies and so I have learned to dress appropriately.

In theory it is a simple exercise; we have a dedicated electric pump to neatly evacuate the old oil into a convenient empty can, and the fresh oil can then be introduced in the normal way, no mess no fuss.....
